Lifting the primary spaces of the Bauhaus Museum allows public spaces to breach the museum’s footprint, blurring the lines between indoor-outdoor/museum-park. Influenced by Bauhausian design principles, yet reinterpreted through contemporary technology, the form of the museum creates exterior colonnaded public spaces and a collection of blunted pyramidal geometries that fluctuate between open and closed, allowing natural light or protection. The museum becomes a platform for interaction between history, community, and nature.
